Reference numbers

Every invoice carries an Estonian reference number by the 7-3-1 rule, so its payment can be found in the bank.

An Estonian reference number (viitenumber) is the invoice number with one check digit added at the end. The check digit is worked out by the 7-3-1 method: the digits are multiplied from the right by 7, 3 and 1 in turn, and the digit that brings the sum up to the next ten is appended.

Profflow prints it on the invoice. When the customer pays with it, the bank line carries the same number and Profflow marks the invoice paid without anyone matching it by hand.

If a customer pays without the reference number, Profflow tries the amount; when it cannot be sure, the line waits in Reconciliation for you.
