What runway means
Runway is how many months the company can keep paying its bills with the money it has, if nothing changes. Under three months is a reason to act: collect what customers owe, delay a purchase, talk to the bank before you need it.
Why the reserve
Few owners want to go to zero. Most keep a reserve: one month of salaries and taxes is a common floor. The calculator counts the months until the cash falls to that reserve, not to zero.
Why averages are not enough
A company with a good average can still be short on the 10th, when salaries and TSD leave together. The lowest day in the next 90 matters more than the monthly average; that is what Profflow shows.
Frequently asked questions
A common floor is one month of salaries and the taxes on them; companies with seasonal or uneven income keep two or three.
Yes, if the company is registered for VAT: the VAT collected from customers is not the company’s money and leaves on the 20th.
It is an estimate from averages. A forecast follows the real dates of invoices, salaries and taxes; Profflow makes one for 90 days.
